How We Approach Hospitality

At our meetup, we believe that hospitality isn’t just about efficiency—it’s about creating a warm, welcoming environment where everyone feels valued from the moment they arrive. Whether someone is attending for the first time or the twentieth, your smile, energy, and attentiveness can make a lasting impression. That’s what sets our events apart and keeps the tech community coming back time and time again.

Your Responsibilities at Check-In
Here’s how you’ll help us deliver this standout experience:

  1. Greet Guests with a Smile
You are the first person our attendees will see when they arrive. A warm smile, eye contact, and a friendly “Welcome! We’re so glad you’re here!” go a long way toward making guests feel comfortable and excited to be part of the event.

  2. Use the Eventbrite App to Check In Guests
You’ll be using the Eventbrite for Organizers app to quickly and efficiently check in attendees. This helps us keep track of who’s here and ensures that guests can enter the event space without unnecessary delays. Don’t worry—we’ll give you a quick tutorial before the event starts, so you’ll feel confident using the app.

  3. Distribute Name Tags
Once guests are checked in on the ground floor, volunteers guide them upstairs where part of the team will help them get their name tags and provide additional event resources. These are small but important details that encourages conversation and connection among our guest throughout the event, which is a key part of our mission.

  4. Be Helpful and Approachable
Some guests may have questions about the event, parking, or the agenda. Be ready to assist or point them in the right direction. You don’t have to know all the answers—we’ll have staff nearby to help—but your friendly attitude will make all the difference.

Our Expectations

  • Arrive on Time
Punctuality helps us kick things off seamlessly and shows that you’re ready to make a positive impact from the start.

  • Plan Ahead
Please arrange your transportation in advance to avoid any last-minute stress.

  • Commit Fully
We’re counting on you! If you need to cancel, please do so only for serious reasons. (For example, feeling tired isn’t the best reason to cancel.) We understand that life happens, but reliability is key.

  • Bring a Positive Attitude
Join us with enthusiasm, a friendly spirit, and a willingness to jump in wherever help is needed. Your energy can truly make a difference in creating an amazing experience for everyone

  • How To Dress and What to Bring
The dress code is business casual, please consider modest clothing. If you have any questions about what’s appropriate, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to provide guidance. You’ll need to download WhatsApp and the Eventbrite for Organizers App before the day of the event.

This is a space to support you.

We are looking to build a win-win relationship with our volunteers. You learn and grow with us. We learn and grow with you. In exchange for your time, we will be providing you with feedback and a group mentoring opportunity a week or two after each meetup. We gather over pizza to talk about the experience at the meetup and about a diverse range of topics related to work and careers.

We’re excited to get you plugged in and look forward to working with you.
